The happiest place on earth

We had been planning a Disney trip in celebration for Tim's last two graduations but something had always come up to keep us from going. Once Tim was done taking the Nevada Bar we decided to stop making excuses and plan the trip. The kids couldn’t have been more excited to be apart of making those plans! In the month and a half preceding the trip every single prayer uttered from Gent's mouth included a line about how thankful he was for being able to go to Disney Land. The kids asked us about our trip almost everyday and got excited every time they saw a Disneyland commercial. I think the anticipation was one of the best parts of it. I was almost worried that they would be disappointed, but Disneyland never lets you down.
Aunt Debbie and Uncle Jay volunteered to take baby Zion for the day so we didn’t have to worry about naps, bottles, and diaper changes. We all missed her but Tim and I both agreed that it would be nice having that 2:2 ratio.

Our family arrived at the park at 8 am and stayed until 8:30pm. It was one ride/adventure to the next. Gent’s only request was to meet Mickey Mouse. Ellie’s one request was to meet one of the princesses or Tinker Bell. They had no idea what they had in store. They got to meet/see Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Tinker Bell, Rosetta, Chip and Dale, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Buzz Lightyear, Jesse and Woody. We went on over 20 rides. Gent’s and Ellie’s favorite ride was The Buzz lightyear astro blasters. While Tim took Ellie on Star Tours Gent and I got to ride his favorite ride again. We packed a ton of snacks so we could eat while waiting in line. The only break the kids wanted to take was to eat lunch at the Tomorrowland Terrace. French Fries take precedent over Disney attractions I guess. Ellie and Gent were on their best behavior all day. I had never seen such gracious children! Randomly throughout the day they would turn to Tim or me and say things like “Thanks so much, this is the best day ever!” When it came time to go they didn’t throw a fit, they just asked very nicely how soon they could come back, to which Tim replied when Zion’s a little older so she can enjoy the rides too.

Last night it was Gent’s turn to say family prayer. I had to keep from giggling when Gent said, “Thank you that we are going to go to Disney Land with Zion.” That boy has a one track mind.
